"The Qi Zi Wei Xin Jue" is an important formula in Zi Wei Dou Shu for determining the position of the Zi Wei Star, with unique significance in astrology. Its full text is: "Six Five Four Three Two, You Wu Hai Chen Chou, Divide the Day Number by the Bureau Number, Move the Quotient Palaces Forward; If the Number has No Remainder, Start from the Tiger's Mouth; If the Day Number is Less than the Bureau, Stay in the Original Palace." Here is a detailed analysis for you:

  • "Six Five Four Three Two, You Wu Hai Chen Chou": This part relates to the Five Element Bureaus and the starting palace for the Zi Wei Star. "Six" corresponds to the Fire Six Bureau, starting at You Palace; "Five" corresponds to the Earth Five Bureau, starting at Wu Palace; "Four" corresponds to the Metal Four Bureau, starting at Hai Palace; "Three" corresponds to the Wood Three Bureau, starting at Chen Palace; "Two" corresponds to the Water Two Bureau, starting at Chou Palace. These correspondences are the basis for subsequent calculations.
  • "Divide the Day Number by the Bureau Number, Move the Quotient Palaces Forward": The core instruction of the specific method. Divide the birth day number by the corresponding Five Element Bureau number to get the quotient. Starting from the palace indicated by the formula, move clockwise by the quotient number of palaces within the twelve palaces. The palace reached is the preliminary position of the Zi Wei Star. For example, if someone is born on the 15th day of the lunar calendar and the Five Element Bureau is Earth Five Bureau, divide 15 by 5 to get the quotient 3. Since the Earth Five Bureau corresponds to Wu Palace, start from Wu Palace and count 3 palaces clockwise, passing Wei Palace and Shen Palace, with the Zi Wei Star preliminarily landing in You Palace.
  • "If the Number has No Remainder, Start from the Tiger's Mouth": A special note for cases of division without a remainder. When the birth day number is divisible by the Bureau number with no remainder, start from the Yin Palace (the "Tiger's Mouth" refers to Yin Palace) and move clockwise by the quotient number of palaces to determine the position of the Zi Wei Star. For instance, if someone is born on the 24th day of the lunar calendar and the Five Element Bureau is Fire Six Bureau, divide 24 by 6 to get the quotient 4 with no remainder. Start from the Yin Palace and count 4 palaces clockwise, passing Mao Palace, Chen Palace, Si Palace, and Wu Palace, with the Zi Wei Star landing in Wu Palace.
  • "If the Day Number is Less than the Bureau, Stay in the Original Palace": Solves the positioning issue when the day number is less than the Bureau number. If the birth day number is less than the corresponding Five Element Bureau number, the Zi Wei Star is directly positioned in the starting palace according to the formula. For example, if someone is born on the 3rd day of the lunar calendar and the Five Element Bureau is Wood Three Bureau, 3 is less than 3, so the Zi Wei Star falls in Chen Palace, as the Wood Three Bureau corresponds to the starting palace at Chen Palace.

After determining the position of the Zi Wei Star through "The Qi Zi Wei Xin Jue," arrange the other stars according to the rules of Zi Wei Dou Shu, and analyze the combinations and interactions of various stars in different palaces to infer a person's destiny trends, such as career development, financial status, marriage and relationships, health, and many other aspects. However, as a traditional astrological system, Zi Wei Dou Shu's scientific validity has not been confirmed by modern science and is more of a cultural phenomenon and traditional knowledge system.
