Introduction

In Zi Wei Dou Shu, if we compare the main stars to class teachers and auxiliary stars to class officers, then the miscellaneous stars are like students in the class. As "students," miscellaneous stars typically act according to the "teacher's" mood. If the characteristics of miscellaneous stars conflict with the main and auxiliary stars, these traits may be suppressed, becoming internal thoughts and desires, similar to recessive genes. However, in specific situations, these traits will still involuntarily manifest.

Zi Wei Dou Shu emphasizes balance. Excessive inclination toward a particular characteristic can easily cause harm. For example, having too many stars that increase intelligence may lead to arrogance, believing oneself to understand the essence of all things, as illustrated by the story of Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang during the Three Kingdoms period.

Besides having specific characteristics, miscellaneous stars can also exhibit a certain temperament. What we commonly describe as someone having a "sorrowful appearance" or "melancholic temperament" is related to miscellaneous stars and deities.
